Submitted by Stephanie Jacques
Bruce Snyder, instructor of biology, recently presented at the International Congress of Myriapodology in Brisbane, Australia.
Snyder's presentation was the poster "Diversity, distribution and phenology of millipedes (Diplopoda) in the biodiverse Great Smoky Mountains National Park, USA." Adam Skibbe, information resource specialist for biology, co-authored the poster. Snyder was the sole representative from the U.S. and one of two from North America at the meeting.
The general meeting for the Centre International de Myriapodologie, the International Society of Myriapodology, was also held during the conference. Snyder was elected to a three-year term on the centre's council.
