Biosecurity Research Institute staff publications
Scott Rusk, director of Pat Roberts Hall, which houses the Biosecurity Research Institute, or BRI, gave an invited presentation at the Tradeline 2012 International Conference on Biocontainment Facilities, titled “Maximizing Safety and Uptime at Kansas State University's Biosecurity Research Institute: Operating Assurance Model Standardizes and Centralizes Facilities Activities.” The publication was also the subject of an article by Nicole Zaro Stahl in Tradeline News and Reports, a web resource for Facilities Planning and Management.
Hao Vu, biosafety specialist at the BRI, and Julie Johnson, assistant vice president for research compliance and BRI biosafety officer, published a chapter in the “Anthology of Biosafety XIII. Animal Production and Protection-Challenges, Risks and Best Practices” edited by Jonathan Richmond and Joany Jackman and published by the American Biological Safety Association. The title of the chapter is "The Anatomy of a Biosafety Audit Process: A Continuous Monitoring Model."
