Agronomy interim department head participates in regional agriculture exchange program
Bill Schapaugh, interim department head of agronomy and soybean breeder, recently spent four days in Tennessee from July 20-23 learning about agriculture in that state as part of the annual Regional Exchange and Awareness Program. This program is sponsored by the American Soybean Association, the United Soybean Board, Bayer CropScience and Novus International. The tour was hosted by the Tennessee Soybean Association.
Schapaugh, along with 11 producers from Northern and Midwestern states, participated in this program that helps build a better understanding of the differences and similarities facing soybean growers across the country. Farmer-leaders from Tennessee and Arkansas joined the group at various stops during the tour to share knowledge and experiences.
