Pedersen speaks at conference for distance teaching and learning
Global Campus dean Karen Pedersen was an invited speaker at the 36th annual Wisconsin Distance Teaching & Learning Conference in early August, which was held virtually due to COVID-19.
The conference aims to provide attendees with a transformative professional development experience emphasizing evidence-based practice, educational innovation and practical applications of theories and research findings in the field of distance education and online learning. Attendees include distance educators, trainers, practitioners and administrators from around the world.
Pedersen's session was titled "Leading in Times of Change," with which she has experience in her leadership role at K-State as well as previous stops throughout her long career. While the title and overview of her session was submitted last fall, today's environment made her session even more relevant.
"As higher education is experiencing unprecedented change and evolution, it was a privilege to present on the practical steps online learning professionals can take to serve their institutions and learners," Pedersen shared.
