Mechanical engineering students earn poster awards
Kansas State University junior Broderick Sieh and senior Lucas Wodrich, both mechanical engineering students in the nuclear option, were awarded second and third place, respectively, in the student poster competition as a part of the American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting hosted virtually Nov. 16-19.
Broderick took second place for his entry, "Ultrasonic Doppler Velocimetry for Flow-Field Measurements in a Vertical Water Channel," and Lucas took third place for his work, "RELAP5 Model of Two-Phase Natural Circulation with Seawater Coolant."
Advising professor for both is Hitesh Bindra, associate professor and Steve Hsu Keystone research scholar in the Alan Levin Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering.
American Nuclear Society meetings and conferences allow participants to keep current with the ever-changing field of nuclear science and technology.
