University names new heads of Eastern and Western Research and Extension centers
Bob Weaber and Dan Devlin were recently selected to lead K-State Research and Extension Eastern and Western centers, respectively.
As head of the Eastern Kansas Research-Extension Centers, Weaber will oversee interdisciplinary crop and livestock research, extension activities and other extension programs at Parsons, Manhattan — Northeast Regional Extension Office and various satellite locations. Weaber steps into this position after many years of service as a K-State Research and Extension beef cattle specialist and K-State animal sciences and industry professor.
To the west, Devlin will serve as the interim head of the Western Kansas Research-Extension Centers, which provide interdisciplinary research and extension activities at Hays, Colby, Garden City, Tribune and satellite locations. Devlin is an agronomy expert with more than 30 years of experience at Kansas State University. His research interests include soil sustainability, water quality and other conservational efforts as they pertain to growing crops in Kansas.
