Advisor Forum presents February Charlie Award
The K-State Advisor Forum announces Karla Girard, distance program coordinator for the food, nutrition, dietetics and health department, as recipient of the February Charlie Award.
Girard was nominated by a colleague for this award because "she put in tremendous work and effort to help recruit and retain students during a period of tremendous growth in enrollment."
Girard's online student load more than doubled in one year and she took them on successfully and did so with passion and positivity. The recent enrollment growth in her department — and growth in the college — was partly due to her ability to address the needs of the numerous incoming students, according to Girard's nominator.
According to her nominator, Girard has been advising for the online dietetics program for many years now and has done a fantastic job assisting with recruitment and retaining students to the college and department.
The K-State Advisor Forum thanks Girard for the work she has done for students and her college and congratulates her on this award.
As a reminder, to nominate someone for the Charlie Award, fill out the short online form. Once your nomination is complete, it will remain an active nomination for one full academic year. Nominations can be completed at any time and can be submitted by anyone on campus. One award will be given out at the beginning of each month. The Advisor Forum Committee will make the decision and deliver awards.
