Fair use resources available to K-Staters
Fair Use Week is Feb. 22-26. Fair Use is an exemption to copyright law that allows the use of copyrighted works without permission or payment of fees to encourage teaching, learning and scholarship.
The Center for the Advancement of Digital Scholarship, or CADS, at K-State Libraries provides resources for K-State students, faculty and staff regarding copyright and fair use. CADS cannot provide legal advice but can provide helpful information about copyright and fair use.
CADS faculty have gathered some helpful resources to learn more about fair use:
- Learn about the four factors to access your Fair Use claim.
- Learn more about Fair Use/Fair Dealings Week with resources and information.
- Need help with your Fair Use claim? Check out the Fair Use Evaluator Tool. You can use this tool to walk through your claim and record it. You can also get a PDF to append to projects and papers.
If you have questions about Fair Use and digital scholarship, please contact CADS.
