K-State doctoral students to be panelists at AAUW's International Women's Day celebration
The Manhattan branch of AAUW invites you to join in a virtual celebration of International Women's Day at 7 p.m. Monday, March 8.
A panel of women with origins outside the U.S. but who live in Manhattan will share unique perspectives and personal experiences intended to increase our individual understanding and appreciation of the diversity in our local community. Email manhattanksaauw@gmail.com to obtain the Zoom link to attend.
International Women’s Day is a global day recognizing and honoring the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year's theme is #ChooseToChallenge. Find your voice to challenge stereotypes and take action to accelerate gender equality.
Event speakers are Niloufar Fattahi, doctoral candidate and research assistant in chemical engineering from Iran; Sidonia McKenzie, Jamaica native and doctoral candidate in economics; Laura Belozerco, a native of Argentina, local businesswoman and executive designer for Victoriana Gifts; and Rose Ndegwa, former export controls compliance officer in the Office of the Vice President for Research, now with Emory University, and a native of Kenya.
AAUW recognizes Sunflower Proofreading Plus and LDB Landscape Architecture and Engineering as diamond-level business sponsors of this year’s event.
Everyone is welcome to participate in this community celebration.
