Whimsical world: Mime art company brings a surreal universe to life at McCain
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The celebrated Switzerland-based theater company Mummenschanz is returning to Manhattan with its 40th anniversary show at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in McCain Auditorium.
The ordinary becomes extraordinary as everyday objects -- wires, tubes, boxes and fabric -- spring to life as fantastical characters. The program consists of nearly 30 sketches and will feature characters that have rarely been performed in the U.S. or Canada, as well as many of the company's perennial fan favorites featuring their most popular characters.
The ingenuity that Mummenschanz employs in its family-friendly acts creates a surreal universe. Audience members will find themselves immersed in a world that is at once both human and poetic.
Ticket prices for Mummenschanz range from $16-$42, plus applicable taxes and fees. Tickets can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office, by phone at 785-532-6428 or online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain.
