ETS Achievement Award to K-State Libraries’ Jason Coleman
Jason Coleman, head of the library user services at K-State Libraries, has been selected as the ETS Emerging Technology Section Achievement Award recipient for 2021.
This award recognizes Coleman's outstanding, sustained contributions to the Emerging Technology Section, or ETS, of the American Library Association's Reference and User Services Association. Coleman has extensive experience providing virtual reference services to patrons and has a passion for developing digital services and resources to support online learners. He consistently volunteers to serve on and chair Emerging Technology Section committees, has held a member-at-large position and is currently the secretary.
Coleman was instrumental in launching the section's Best Emerging Technology Award. As co-chair of the inaugural committee, he and other section members worked diligently to get the award approved, market the call for submissions and select a well-deserving winner from among 19 submissions.
The ETS Achievement Award is given annually to recognize excellence in service to Reference and User Services Association's Emerging Technologies Section. The recipient must have made either a sustained contribution toward attaining the goals of Emerging Technologies Section, or a single significant contribution that has resulted in a positive impact upon the work of the section.
