Facilities service request update
Welcome back, K-Staters! As a division that has been working in person throughout the pandemic, it is wonderful to feel the energy at the onset of the fall semester, especially after 20 months of the alternative.
Having everyone back on campus, however, brings a unique set of challenges. While our maintenance teams have been actively engaged in remedying building issues over the previous several months, K-Staters are now fully using buildings and reporting issues as they arise.
In August, the service request number is 48% higher compared to the same period, pre-COVID. Additionally, our skilled service technicians are responsible for maintaining 48% more space than peer institutions, culminating in the perfect peak season.
We share this information to align expectations with available resources; response times for non-emergency service requests may be approximately two weeks given the surge in workload.
