Due Sept. 30: Nominations for International Educator of the Year Award, International Collaboration Recognitions
Nominations for both the 2021 International Educator of the Year Award and International Collaboration Recognitions should be submitted to oip@k-state.edu by 5 p.m. on Sept. 30.
The International Educator of the Year Award program began in 2003 to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to advancing international education on our campus. Faculty, staff, administrators or other members of the K-State community are recognized for major contributions and sustained commitment to internationalizing our campus and are awarded $1,000. For questions about the international educator of the year award nomination process, contact Assistant Provost Marcellus Caldas at 785-532-1244 or caldasma@k-state.edu.
International Collaboration Recognitions are awarded to K-State faculty and instructors who have collaborated with an international partner for the first time during the 2020 calendar year. The recognitions include $1,000 granted to K-State faculty and instructors fitting the criteria.
The recognitions are for K-State tenured, tenure-track faculty or instructors with a regular contract who had their first career publication in peer review journals, book chapters, books or creative work — movies, video, photography, plays, among others forms scholarly activities — in collaboration with one or more faculty member(s) or researcher(s) with a permanent position at a foreign institution as a primary institutional affiliation. For any questions, including submission or eligibility criteria, contact Caldas at 785-532-1244 or caldasma@k-state.edu.
The International Educator of the Year Award and Collaboration Incentive Recognitions are a big part of K-State's International Education Week — #KStateIEW2021 — that will be celebrated this year from Nov. 4-18. The week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of State. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide and promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States. For questions about International Education Week or including your event(s) as part of the week's activities, please contact oip@k-state.edu.
