Pickering's third book published
David Pickering, professor of music, announces the release of his third book, "Harold and Catharine," a biography of husband and wife duo Harold Gleason and Catharine Crozier, two of the most famous organists in the 20th-century American organ scene.
Gleason, founder of the organ department at the University of Rochester's prestigious Eastman School of Music, was a groundbreaking organ pedagogue with his publication of "Method of Organ Playing" in 1937 which was published in eight subsequent editions. Catharine, a former student of Gleason's, went on to become one of the most famous organ recitalists in America, performing to wide and critical acclaim.
