Join K-State Animal Welfare Assessment Team
Kansas State University will again participate in the American Veterinary Medical Association's Animal Welfare Assessment Contest, held virtually from Nov. 19-21.
The international competition is open to undergraduate, graduate and veterinary students. The competition teaches students to assess the welfare of animals in a variety of settings using science-based methods and reasoning. Students are given the opportunity to weigh evidence and present sound evaluations. This contest ensures that tomorrow's leaders in the animal industries develop strong communication skills and acquire enhanced knowledge of animal welfare.
We are working on assembling the K-State team now and the registration deadline is Oct. 22. The contest registration fees will be covered by the anatomy and physiology department in the College of Veterinary Medicine, making this a free opportunity for students. Contact Abbie Viscardi at aviscardi@vet.k-state.edu if you are interested in joining the team and representing K-State in the competition.
More information can be found on the contest website.
