Seeking students to apply for Barry Goldwater Scholarship
Kansas State University can nominate four students in engineering, mathematics and/or the natural sciences to compete nationally for the Barry Goldwater Scholarship.
For this opportunity, which awards up to $7,500 a year, we are seeking undergraduate students who will graduate from a STEM discipline between May 2023 and May 2024. Ideal candidates will plan to ultimately earn a doctorate; seek a research-oriented career in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering; maintain a 3.8-plus GPA; and have an ongoing undergraduate research experience.
If you know of students who seem like a strong fit for this opportunity, please encourage them to apply and/or to speak with Jim Hohenbary, the Goldwater faculty representative. Encouragement from mentors is often vital as students consider whether they should apply.
Campus applications are due on Nov. 5. View the full PDF instructions regarding how to apply.
Students nominated to represent K-State in the national competition will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from K-State for spring 2022.
