Piano professor presents at music conferences

Slawomir Dobrzanski, professor of music, presented at state, national and international conferences in the fall 2021 semester.
In September, Dobrzanski traveled to Poland to present a lecture on the critical reception of 19th-century composer and piano virtuosa Maria Szymanowska, 1789-1831, at the 50th National Musicological Conference of the Polish Composers Union. Held at the University of Warmia-Mazury, Olsztyn, Poland, the conference featured "Music by Women, Women in Music" as this year's theme.
In October, Dobrzanski was granted the honor of being the featured conference artist at the Kansas Music Teachers Conference at Manhattan Christian College. As part of this role, he performed a solo recital and conducted a master class for pre-college piano students.
Also in October, Dobrzanski delivered a lecture focusing on Hungarian composer and virtuoso Karoly Agghazy, 1855-1918, at the National Conference of the American Liszt Society. At the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the conference featured "Liszt and Hungary" as this year's theme.
