Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar presents 'Don't Get Boxed In: How Your Math Degree Can Open Doors For You'

Nathan Balkenbusch, associate director for business operations for Beta Theta Pi, will present the next Undergraduate Mathematics Seminar, "Don't Get Boxed In: How Your Math Degree Can Open Doors For You," from 1:30-2:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, in 122 Cardwell Hall. 

A math degree pairs well with many careers and can be a welcome addition to many non-math roles. In this talk, we will speak about how a math degree will benefit graduates in msny contexts and how to maximize your collegiate experience to set yourself up for your best future.

Balkenbusch was born and raised in Olathe and attended Kansas State University from 2011-2014, receiving a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, a minor in business and a certificate in integrated investment management. He served as a chapter development consultant for Beta Theta Pi from May 2014-December 2016, senior consultant for Pennington & Company from January 2017-June 2021 and has served as the associate director for business operations for Beta Theta Pi since June 2021.
