Fall 2021 TEVAL reminders

Submitted by Tanya Gonzalez

As the end of the semester approaches, please remember to set up your online TEVALs. The deadline to create an online TEVAL is Dec. 17. The last day that you can offer TEVALs to students is Dec. 20. After grades have been released, reports can be retrieved by the primary instructor in Canvas.

The University Handbook Section C.34 clearly indicates that "student feedback should never be the only source of information about classroom teaching" and that we need to use a "flexible approach to teaching evaluation." Examples of what to include in portfolio assessments of teaching, in addition to student feedback, are also listed in UH Section C.34.

The Teaching and Learning Center developed a video to help you set up your TEVALs on Canvas. They also worked with students to produce a video that explains how to provide effective feedback for faculty on their TEVALs. Please encourage your students to view it before completing the TEVALs.

If you have any questions, please contact the Teaching and Learning Center at 785-532-7828 or teachingandlearning@k-state.edu.
