PwC faculty workshop 'Becoming an Inclusive Leader'
Submitted by Olivia Law-DelRosso
Join the College of Business and PricewaterhouseCoopers, or PwC, virtually from 4-5 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for the workshop "Becoming an Inclusive Leader." Led by PwC professionals, this interactive workshop will help participants recognize unconscious biases and microaggressions, and take action to become more inclusive leaders.
As faculty and staff, we work in a variety of workplaces and lead diverse teams of people with different backgrounds and experiences. Understanding people outside of our own demographic groups is essential to success. While we may not be able to completely understand the experiences of others, we can take steps to understand how our own unconscious biases shape the way we initially interpret actions and interact with others. We must acknowledge and overcome the unconscious biases learned throughout our lives, and be intentional about becoming inclusive leaders to create supportive and inclusive environments where everyone can contribute fully.
PwC is the second-largest professional services network in the world and is considered one of the Big Four accounting firms, along with Deloitte, EY and KPMG. PwC CEO Tim Ryan established The CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace with more than 2000 CEOs involved representing more than 85 industries.
