This eight-week health initiative is offered by K-State Research and Extension, and those working toward HealthQuest credits can earn four points by participating. All state of Kansas employees are welcome to participate at no cost. Walk Kansas begins March 28 and continues through May 21. You can participate as a member of a six-person team or through the solo program.
K-State employees are encouraged to register in the county where they live. Before registering, obtain a discount code for free registration available through your local Extension office or by contacting sharolyn@k-state.edu. Registration by March 26 is encouraged, but registration will close April 2.
This year, program information and support will focus on how physical activity, nutrition and other lifestyle factors to promote a healthy mind, improve focus, help manage or prevent depression and help delay the onset or prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Through an online portal, participants will log minutes or steps of physical activity, and cups of fruits and vegetables they consume.
