Campus cultural connection: Union Program Council's Executive Board gains new members

The newly selected members of Kansas State University's Union Program Council's 2013-2014 Executive Board for the K-State Student Union have the opportunity to leave their mark on campus. These student leaders will plan more than 150 events for the next school year.
The Union Program Council is responsible for organizing events in the K-State Student Union and around campus. Funded by student privilege fees, the council provides social, cultural, educational and recreational activities.
The Executive Board leads committees made up of student volunteers, who help plan a variety of events that entertain and enlighten the campus. For the board selection process, candidates underwent an application and interview process.
Members of 2013-2014 Union Program Council Executive Board are:
Rachel Estes, junior in arts and sciences-open option, Caney, Films Committee co-chair; Brianna Rodgers, freshman in biology and psychology, De Soto, After Hours Committee co-chair; Georgia Campbell, senior in anthropology and family studies and human services, Eudora, Forums Committee co-chair; Kaitlyn Rogers, junior in human resources management, Fredonia, Community Committee co-chair.
From Greater Kansas City: Megan Varhola, freshman in arts and sciences-open option, Overland Park, After Hours Committee co-chair; and Jenna Boutte, sophomore in public relations, Summer Committee co-chair, and Emily Gerling, junior in anthropology and history, Multicultural Committee co-chair, both from Shawnee.
Drew Sorrick, sophomore in history, Lawrence, After Hours Committee co-chair; Hannah Henning, junior in journalism and mass communications, Maize, Entertainment Committee co-chair.
From Manhattan: Andy Blattner, senior in industrial engineering, Films Committee co-chair; Elizabeth Davidson, junior in secondary education-art, vice president of membership; and Daniel Preston, sophomore in milling science and management, Entertainment Committee co-chair.
