Goins publishes fourth installment on jazz guitarist
Wayne Goins, university distinguished professor of music, published the fourth and final chapter of a rare and exclusive interview with legendary guitarist Russell Malone in the July issue of Jazz Guitar Life, a highly popular online jazz guitar journal that features the most prominent artists in the world.
In this final episode, Goins invites Malone to share his thoughts about chord soloing, playing ballads, organ trios, teaching music, the role of the guitar, and becoming an elder statesman.
Goins tapped Malone in a multi-part series of rare interviews for the premier journal that shines the spotlight on jazz guitarists who have mastered the craft of performing and composing the uniquely American art form. Goins will be submitting a wide variety of pieces, including exclusive jazz artist profiles, CD reviews, podcast interviews and feature articles related to jazz recordings on vinyl.
