Vieyra joins McNair Scholars Program as program services coordinator
The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program welcomed Emily Vieyra as program services coordinator on Aug. 10.
She is responsible for coordinating recruitment, outreach and engagement activities for the McNair Scholars Program, especially leading the new McNair Explorers initiative to engage first- and second-year students in professional development that will expose them to research and help them become competitive for the McNair Scholars Program.
Vieyra has more than 11 years of experience working with students across multiple levels of education and across many subjects, including coordinating programming and engagement events. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a volunteer coordinator and as an instructor of art, writing and theatre appreciation. In this past work, she has coordinated community service projects, collaborated on institutional events and organized student trips.
Vieyra earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors at the University of Kansas and a Master of Arts in English at K-State.
