Registration open for 2013 CHECK conference May 29-30
Pittsburg State University will host the 2013 Conference on Higher Education Computing in Kansas, or CHECK, May 29-30. CHECK is an annual gathering of information technology professionals to present, learn and network about innovative technologies and IT issues for providing IT services to the higher education community. Check out the great topics and presenters at www.check.gen.ks.us/agenda.html. All Kansas higher education institutions are encouraged to participate.
Registration is now open and available at https://go.pittstate.edu/check2013registration. Register by May 21 to receive the early registration rate of $60.
A tour of Joplin's 21st Century Learning High School — an added event for the afternoon of Thursday, May 30 — will require an additional $10 registration fee. The tour will be an opportunity to visit Joplin, Mo., which two years ago suffered the effects of a catastrophic tornado. Participants will drive through the path of destruction to visit the big-box store that was converted to an award-winning digital high school focused on next-generation educational tools. More about the Joplin tour can be found at www.check.gen.ks.us/joplin.html.
CHECK is sponsored by the Regents Information Technology Council, or RITC, and coordinated by the Information Technology and Services Advisory subcommittee.
