Southeast Agricultural Research Center professor receives national research award
Daniel Sweeney, professor of soil and water management for the K-State Southeast Agricultural Research Center, received the 2011 Werner L. Nelson Award for Diagnosis of Yield-Limiting Factors from the American Society of Agronomy.
Sweeney’s research addresses soil fertility and management for row crops and forages grown on claypan soils. He has served on the editorial boards of Journal of Production Agriculture and Agronomy Journal, is currently the editor of Crop Management and serving a second term as the S-4, soil fertility and plant nutrition, Soil Science Society of America board representative. Sweeney is a fellow of the American Society of Agronomy and the Soil Science Society of America.
