Reminder and small change: Professional development funding opportunity for academic advisors
Submitted by Office of Student Success
The Office of the Vice Provost for Student Success is offering academic advisors professional development awards of up to $750 to subsidize participation in advising-related professional activities and conferences or meetings during the year.
These funds may be used for the spring, summer or fall semesters of 2023. Additional awards will be disbursed early in the fall semester. Please note that the fall 2023 NACADA National Conference anticipated early bird registration deadline will be before fall funding decisions are made. Consider applying now for that conference if interested. Applications are invited from faculty and primary role advisors at K-State — Manhattan, Salina, Olathe, or Global campuses.
These financial awards seek to support attendance at professional conferences to provide advisors with opportunities to further their work, increase their knowledge and skills, network with other professionals and enhance their experience. In addition, it increases the recognition and reputation of Kansas State University.
The deadline for applications is Feb. 1.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a full-time or part-time employee at the university serving in some advising capacity.
- Apply to attend professional development activities or a professional conference relevant to their field.
- Use the funds to help cover registration, travel, meals and accommodations.
To apply for the professional development funds, please complete the application in the Qualtrics survey.
