Calling all musicians for new Manhattan orchestra
Calling all K-State and greater Manhattan community musicians — we are looking for you! Join the inaugural performance of the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra this May 21 as we celebrate a "Night at the Movies."
The Manhattan Symphony Orchestra is a new community ensemble comprised of student, amateur and professional musicians. The orchestra strives to create meaningful community-based music experiences for musicians and audience members alike. For the first performance, the orchestra will perform works celebrating the cinema including music from "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "James Bond" favorites, "Star Wars" and many more.
Rachel Dirks, director of orchestral studies and assistant professor of music at Kansas State University, is the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra's director.
With the concert around the corner, make sure to sign up to perform with the ensemble before Saturday, April 29. For more information about joining and/or supporting the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra visit mhksymphony.org or follow us on Facebook or Instagram — @mhksymphony.
