Kristin Holt has been selected for the permanent role of executive assistant to the president at Kansas State University, effective immediately.
Holt, who has served as interim executive assistant to the president since July 2022, has worked for the Office of the President at K-State for more than a decade.
"Kristin's extensive experience and contributions both at our university and within our community, coupled with her deep institutional knowledge, make her the perfect fit for this role," said K-State President Richard Linton. "She is a consummate professional who builds and nurtures strong relationships with her colleagues and contacts, and I am thrilled to continue to work together in this capacity."
Before assuming the role of interim executive assistant to the president, Holt served as the government relations coordinator in the Office of the President. As government relations coordinator, some of her duties included coordinating the government relations and NBAF liaison offices; organizing the university's federal lobbying requirements; generating monthly newsletters highlighting the university for state and federal policymakers; and planning the university's yearly federal relations trip to Washington, D.C.
"I am grateful to President Linton for this opportunity," Holt said. "I look forward to continuing to work with him and K-State's faculty, staff and students to advance the goals and priorities of the President's Office."
Holt graduated from K-State with a marketing and international business degree. She has previously worked for the KSU Foundation and the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as deputy communications director for then-Gov. Bill Graves and communications director for then-Kansas Senate Majority Leader Lana Oleen.
A Manhattan native, Holt has served the community through involvement with several Riley County Extension boards and programs, the Friends of the Sunset Zoo, and the Riley County Elections Office.
