Professional development virtual session: Drafting and Evaluating Engagement Dossiers
Promotion and tenure committees nationwide indicate a need for more effective narrative and evaluation of engagement dossiers.
The professional development opportunity, Drafting and Evaluating Engagement Dossiers, will be held from 11 a.m. to noon CDT on Thursday, June 22, via Zoom. Anyone at an Engagement Scholarship Consortium member institution may attend. Register for this session using the Qualtrics link.
The session will provide examples for junior faculty on how to frame their dossiers for internal and external review. It will also discuss important attributes to consider when senior faculty are asked to evaluate engagement dossiers. Case study examples will be shared as well as resources to facilitate more effective writing and evaluation of promotion/tenure documents focused on engaged scholarship.
Join Rod Williams, assistant provost for engagement and professor at Purdue University, and Jennifer Purcell, associate professor in the School of Government and International Affairs at Kennesaw State University, for this inaugural professional development opportunity.
Ania Payne, K-State assistant professor of English, is also a member of the inaugural Professional Development Committee within the Engagement Scholarship Consortium. The committee's goal is to amplify the consortium’s effort to advance professional development for scholars, practitioners and senior leaders in their pursuit of excellence and sustainability in university-community partnerships, community-engaged scholarship and the field of higher education community engagement.
