K-State announces new Office of Institutional Equity director and Title IX coordinator

Justin Frederick has been appointed as Kansas State University's Office of Institutional Equity director and Title IX coordinator, effective July 9. Frederick has served as the interim director since September 2022.
"We are fortunate to have Justin serve as the director of the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX coordinator at Kansas State University," said Rana Johnson, vice president for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. "I am confident that he will serve as a thought leader for his team while delivering a high level of trust and stability to the office to ensure that the best possible customer service is extended to students, departments and all employees at K-State. I want to thank the search committee and those who participated in the interview process for their diligent and thoughtful work."
Prior to joining the Office of Institutional Equity team, Frederick served in the Office of Student Life, where he was an assistant dean. Frederick's role in the office included supervision of the Center for Advocacy, Response and Education, or CARE office, supervision of the Military Affiliated Resource Center, nontraditional populations, and working with students in the colleges of Agriculture and Arts and Sciences.
Before his work in the Office of Student Life, Frederick spent his professional career in the field of student housing, serving in a variety of roles, including complex director, assistant director and associate director. Frederick earned his Master of Science in college student personnel from the University of Central Missouri and his Bachelor of Science in social work from Pittsburg State University.
The Office of Institutional Equity is engaged in training, outreach, affirmative action planning, equal employment opportunity compliance and conducting investigations in accordance with PPM 3010, laws, regulations, executive orders and other applicable policies that uphold equal opportunity and civil rights laws.
