Phase One of Campus Creek Stabilization and Bayberry Project will begin Aug. 21
Beginning Monday, Aug. 21, Ebert Construction will begin Phase 1 of the Campus Creek Stabilization and Bayberry Project. This phase is scheduled to be completed in mid-December. Ebert will begin working on the upper end of Bayberry in anticipation of the Bayberry Lane road closure scheduled for early September.
Please note the following impacts to campus mobility during this time:
- The sidewalk and retaining wall on the upper north side of Bayberry Lane will be removed to prep for the widening of the road. One stall near the sidewalk will be closed during this phase.
- Access to the A6 and A8 parking lots will remain open during this phase of the project. Please use caution and allow extra time when navigating to these lots.
- On Aug. 24, parallel stalls on both exits of the A5 lot will be blocked to prep for the Bayberry Lane road closure.
- On Sept. 4, Bayberry Lane will be closed.
See the construction map for details.
Entering and exiting the A8 parking lot: There will be only one-lane access on the west side of Bayberry Lane during Phase One. Please yield to traffic when entering or leaving the lot.
Entering and exiting the A6 parking lot: Enter Petticoat Lane and proceed to the east end of Campus Creek Road. The one-way exit will turn into a two-way street. No parallel parking will be allowed at this location or at the west end of the A5 lot due to the phased construction of Bayberry Lane. Please yield to traffic. This will be a one-lane controlled access point. The loading dock to Bluemont Avenue can still be used but will have limited access during the initial phase of the project.
Entering and exiting the A5 parking lot: Enter Petticoat Lane and proceed to the east end of Campus Creek Road. The one-way exit will turn into a two-way street.
Sidewalks around Bayberry Lane will be closed for pedestrian safety — please follow signs to navigate around the construction site.
The city of Manhattan and Ebert Construction will also begin working on Manhattan Avenue near the intersection of Anderson Avenue and Bluemont Avenue during this phase. Please allow for extra time while using this intersection during the upgrades to Manhattan Avenue.
The Division of Facilities appreciates your patience while these important upgrades are completed. Updates for this project will continue to be provided in K-State Today.
