Economics Club to host roundtable today on the future of college athletics
Submitted by Daniel Dent Kuester
The Economics Club, a registered sponsored student organization, will host its annual roundtable at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in 231 Waters Hall.
This year's discussion, "The Future of College Athletics," will feature Tim Fitzgerald of Go Powercat, Andrew Maness of General Motors, Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star, Jason Scheer of Wildcat Authority-University of Arizona, and Dan Kuester of the K-State economics department.
We will examine the recent conference realignment and the influx of television money into college sports and provide some predictions about the future of the Big 12. All are welcome to attend. A short business meeting will take place at 6:15 p.m., and the roundtable will start at about 6:30 p.m. The club also recently released its student price index and will update the audience about those results.
