Call for commencement volunteers
Submitted by Commencement Committee
Fall 2023 commencement is right around the corner, and K-State will celebrate the achievements of its graduates. The university community has the opportunity to be a part of the celebration by volunteering.
With a full schedule of ceremonies, the dedicated commencement planning team is seeking volunteers to help make these events a success. View a schedule of all the ceremonies on the commencement website.
Volunteers are needed to assist throughout Dec. 8-9 in various capacities, including helping at the graduate assistance table, guiding graduates and conducting essential ceremony floor duties, such as scanning and restocking commencement programs and diploma covers. If you are willing and able to lend a hand, please sign up as a commencement volunteer.
To ensure you're well-prepared for your volunteer role, an online training will be provided to all volunteers at the end of November. Volunteers working the graduate assistance table on the concourse should wear a business-appropriate K-State or purple shirt and comfortable shoes. Volunteers for the ceremony floor should wear black attire to blend in and comfortable shoes. Those who work two shifts on Saturday, Dec. 9, will be provided with lunch.
If you are an hourly employee or non-exempt and want to volunteer at the commencement ceremonies, please work with your supervisor to adjust your work hours to ensure you stay within your 40-hour workweek as necessary.
For any inquiries related to the ceremony or volunteering, please contact the commencement committee at commencement@k-state.edu.
Thank you in advance to all those who are able to assist at the fall 2023 commencement ceremonies.
