Oboe Studio hosts world-renowned oboist Katherine Needleman

The Kansas State University School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will host Katherine Needleman, principal oboist of the Baltimore Symphony and oboe professor at the Curtis Institute of Music, for Wildcat Oboe Weekend 2024. This event will be a celebration of women in the arts.
Needleman, world-renowned oboist, is a leader in advocating for and promoting work in the arts by women. She will give a guest artist recital featuring works by women at 8 p.m. on Feb. 24, 2024, in All Faiths Chapel.
Needleman will also be the guest artist for Wildcat Oboe Day 2024: Celebrating Women in the Arts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2024, in the Purple Masque Theatre and lobby. This daylong event includes master classes, reed-making classes, rehearsals and performances featuring the oboe.
These events are free to the public. Oboists of all ages, musicians and those who love music are all invited to attend.
