Fall 2023 Live Ideas social science writing contest winners announced

The K-State primary texts certificate program announces the fall 2023 Live Ideas social science writing contest winners.
- First place, $200 prize: "A Look into a Human-Centric AI-Controlled Nation," by Sawyer Shutts, senior in political science and international studies.
- Second place, $100 prize: "Arizona v. Navajo Nation," by Katey West, sophomore in political science, pre-law, with a minor in Middle East studies.
- Third place, $50 prize: "Proprietarian Trajectories: An Examination of Ownership Society in Post-Soviet Russia," by Max Wellbrock-Talley, senior in social science with a minor in political science and economics.
The winning essays will be published in the Live Ideas spring 2024 issue.
Live Ideas is the open-access, peer-reviewed undergraduate journal of K-State's primary texts certificate program. It is co-produced by students and faculty at K-State and is published online once per semester.
