Kathy Huser recognized as Professional Staff of the Week
Kathy Huser, academic advisor in animal sciences and industry in the College of Agriculture, was recognized as Professional Staff Member of the Week at the Jan. 16 home basketball game.
Faculty Senate, the Office of the President, K-State Athletics and the Division of Communications and Marketing wish to recognize her contributions to K-State.
Huser serves as the sole student services coordinator for the largest academic major on campus, animal science, plus food science. Collectively, she manages student records for approximately 1,000 students, including the coordination of transfer equivalency evaluations, new student enrollment activities and continuing student enrollment.
To add to this complexity, she leads the training of faculty-based advisors to ensure consistent implementation of university advising initiatives, such as using the Navigate platform for scheduling and enrolling. Most importantly, Huser performs these activities to the highest degree of excellence and approaches each of these duties with a positive, upbeat attitude to elevate those around her.
Huser is a team player who sees a need and makes sure it is filled instead of expecting someone else to do it. She offers the highest quality service to our students, advisors, staff and the hundreds of individuals who walk in or call her office phone.
