Apply by Feb. 2 to add open/alternative course fee to summer/fall 2024 courses
If you use no-cost educational resources in your course, you have through Friday, Feb. 2, to submit a request to have the open/alternative course fee applied to your class and your course marked with the OA icon in the line schedule.
The fee is $10, paid by each student enrolled in the class. Ninety percent of the fee goes to your department, and the remaining 10% supports the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative.
If you would like to have the course fee added to your summer or fall 2024 courses, submit your course data online by Feb. 2. If you are unable to submit your data by the deadline, you will not be able to claim the fee that semester.
Please note, if you are entering data for multiple courses, you may need to delete your browser's cache or use a private/incognito browser window.
The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative has saved K-State students more than $10 million since 2016. Learn more about the initiative and apply for a grant by visiting the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative website.
