Wildcat Oboe Weekend to feature principal oboist of Baltimore Symphony Orchestra

Wildcat Oboe Weekend 2024 with guest artist Katherine Needleman, principal oboist of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, will take place on Feb. 24 and 25. This free event will include recitals, master classes, vendors and more.
Needleman is a leader in advocating for and promoting work in the arts by women. She will give a guest artist recital featuring works by women at 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 in All Faiths Chapel.
Needleman will also be the guest artist for Wildcat Oboe Day 2024: Celebrating Women in the Arts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 25 in the Purple Masque Theatre and lobby. This daylong event includes master classes, reed-making classes, rehearsals and performances featuring the oboe.
These events are free to the public. Oboists of all ages, musicians and those who love music are all invited to attend. Scan the QR code or use the event link to register.
Wildcat Oboe Weekend is hosted by the K-State Oboe Studio and Alyssa Morris, associate professor of oboe.
Morris serves as principal oboist of Topeka Symphony and Chamber Orchestra of the Smoky Valley. She has appeared in performances around the world and as concerto soloist at the Kennedy Center. Read more about Morris.
