Limited places remain for 'Water Wednesday' event
Only 10 places remaining at the first "Water Wednesday" luncheon, hosted by the Kansas Water Institute and Hale Library from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. Those interested in attending should register now online.
This month's Water Wednesday will focus on interdisciplinary teams and approaches to improving water quality. The session will begin with one or two flash presentations from faculty across disciplines sharing their current water quality work, from microplastics to nitrates and the impacts on animals and human health. The remainder of the event will be devoted to networking and forming collaborations for teaching, grant proposals and other opportunities. Lunch will be provided.
"K-State has an amazing depth of expertise about water resources, and these monthly Water Wednesdays will give us an opportunity to engage with others who might not be in the same department or even college," said Susan Metzger, director of the Kansas Water Institute.
The Kansas Water Institute will offer these events monthly in an effort to facilitate impactful communication between water resource professionals and to disseminate research results. For more information about the Kansas Water Institute or Water Wednesdays, contact water@k-state.edu.
