Student earns honorable mention from Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture
Victoria Brenneis, a 2023 graduate and standout student in the Master of Landscape Architecture program in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design, or APDesign, has been awarded an honorable mention in the 2024 Student Research Award category by the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture, or CELA.
In a competitive field comprising 56 applicants vying for various faculty and student award categories, Brenneis' exceptional accomplishment in the Student Research Award category has garnered well-deserved recognition.
"Victoria's dedication and excellence in the field of landscape architecture truly set her apart," said Sara Hadavi, assistant professor of landscape architecture and Brenneis' advisor.
The CELA Awards, a prestigious annual event, feature categories recognizing both faculty and student accomplishments. Faculty awards include Excellence in Teaching Excellence in Design Studio Teaching, Excellence in Research or Creative Work, Excellence in Service-Learning, Outstanding Educator, and Outstanding Administrator. On the student front, awards recognize Creative Scholarship and Research.
The 2024 CELA Awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. March 22 during the annual CELA Conference titled "Taking Action: Making Change." The conference is scheduled to take place in St. Louis, Missouri, from March 20-23. An awards dinner and reception will honor the winners, providing a platform for networking and celebration among the academic community.
