Music faculty to present at Kansas music educators conference

Six members of the music faculty will present Thursday, Feb. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 24, at the annual in-service workshop of the Kansas Music Educators Association, or KMEA, in Wichita.
Rachel Dirks, Ruth Gurgel, Phillip Payne, Amy Rosine, Joshua Oppenheim and Alex Wimmer will present a combined 11 sessions over the three-day conference. Additionally, the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance will be available at a booth in the exhibition hall and will host a reception for colleagues and alumni at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in the Hyatt Riverview Room.
Each year, KMEA hosts an in-service workshop at the Century II Convention Center in Wichita. At this important annual event, speakers, performers and vendors gather together to represent the best of music education throughout the state.
