Advisor Forum presents March Charlie Award
The K-State Advisor Forum announces that Chloe Wallace, academic advisor and program administrator in the environmental science program, has been selected for the March Charlie Award.
Her nominator wrote: "Over the past year, I have gotten to know Chloe while working at Kansas State University and outside of work. Chloe makes it so she is available 24/7 for her students if they need anything. At work, she provides food for students who cannot afford to have enough food to properly sustain themselves. She even provides tutoring to students if they are struggling in classes. She helped create the program curriculum, and she oversees recruitment and marketing of the program. Chloe always goes well beyond her job duties. She is the first staff member to greet new employees of the College of Arts and Sciences. When I started at K-State, she made it a point to become my friend, introduce me to people who would be helpful to know and organize social gatherings for K-State employees outside of the college. She even takes on extra work if she sees someone struggling with their workload. I feel like people like Chloe are not recognized enough for everything they do."
Jesse Nippert wrote, "Because this program is young — third year of existence — there was no template for her to follow with regard to managing student needs, communicating between faculty and staff of two large colleges on campus — Arts and Sciences and Agriculture — and recruiting students into this program. Despite these challenges, environmental sciences is the fastest growing major at K-State! Chloe provides course instruction, academic mentoring, and manages input and advice from her research colleagues with aplomb! She also plans events for the students, finds internship opportunities and administers the social media feeds for the program. Chloe is a deserving candidate for the Charlie Award, and we are pleased she is receiving this recognition!"
The Advisor Forum thanks Wallace for the work she does and congratulates her on this award.
