K-State MANRRS Chapter brings home national awards
The K-State College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office and the Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences, or MANNRS, Chapter attended the National MANRRS Conference and Career Expo from March 20-24, in Chicago, Illinois.
A delegation of 21 students represented K-State at the national conference, accompanied by Zelia Wiley, assistant dean and K-State MANRRS advisor; Summer Santillana, diversity programs office coordinator; Lonnie Hobbs Jr., co-advisor; and Dan Moser, associate dean. This year, the student delegation also included two K-State Jr. MANRRS students, William Clark and Seraiah Howard, sponsored and accompanied by JohnElla Holmes, CEO and president of the Kansas Black Farmers Association.
There were more than 1,800 attendees at the conference. Thank you to John Deere Co., Anderson Inc., Ardent Mills, FMC and Cargill for their partnership and sponsorship of the chapter. The delegation competed during the conference, and brought home various national awards.

- Abena Damuah, Top 10, Graduate Research Poster Division II–doctoral student in agricultural economics.
- Adetola Lamidi, Top 10, 3MT–master's student in agricultural economics.
- Catherine Obiribea Ofori-Bah, Top 10, Graduate Research Poster Division II–doctoral student in agricultural economics.
- April Mason-Taylor–master's student in public health and nutrition.
- Brandon Green–master's student in veterinary biomedical sciences.
- Brienna Walker, MANRRS Bowl–senior in animal sciences and industry.
- Charles Carpenter III–master's student in horticulture.
- Eliyasu Osman–doctoral student in agricultural economics.
- Gillian Mae Villa, Farm Credit Scholar, sophomore in agribusiness.
- Jadhida Resendiz, Freshman in agronomy.
- Lailah Bias, MANRRS Bowl, Animal Health and Care Academy Scholar–sophomore, animal sciences and industry.
- Madi Neal, MANRRS Bowl–senior in agricultural communications and journalism.
