'Something to Chew On' podcast features Rural Grocery Initiative program leader Rial Carver
The Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab's podcast, "Something to Chew On," returns with its latest episode, "Revitalizing Rural Grocery: Building stronger, healthier and more sustainable communities." This episode features guest Rial Carver of the Rural Grocery Initiative, along with hosts Maureen Olewnik and Jeanette Thurston.
In the podcast, Carver emphasizes the imperative for rural grocers to cultivate robust partnerships, embrace diverse ownership models and actively devise comprehensive transition plans to ensure communities' access to fresh and healthy foods. Additionally, Carver outlines available resources to assist rural grocers in addressing sustainability and operational challenges, which in turn contributes to the improvement of community wellness.
The Sunderland Foundation Innovation Lab offers access to cutting-edge technologies and programming in a collaborative environment. The lab receives support from K-State's Student Governing Association and is a partnership between K-State Libraries and the Division of Information Technology.
