Submitted by Kelley Brundage

The Office of the Registrar announces Susan Cooper's retirement after 32 years at Kansas State University. Cooper's retirement date is Friday, June 7.

Cooper will be honored with a retirement reception from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, June 7, in Room 201 of the Leadership Studies Building. The event is open to the campus community, and light refreshments will be provided.

Cooper joined the administrative staff in the Office of the Registrar in 1997 as assistant to the registrar and was promoted to associate registrar in 2010. Cooper earned a bachelor's degree from Washington State University and a master's from K-State.

During her tenure, Cooper led the Office of the Registrar through several leadership changes; she has been a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, where she has served as chair of the membership committee, listserv manager, co-chair of the local arrangements committee and records/registration advocate-at-large.

Cooper's university service includes serving as chair of the DARS — Degree Audit Reporting System — Work Team, co-chair and chair delegate for the University Out-of-State Fee Appeals Committee, the University Academic Calendar Committee and the University Late Drop/Withdrawal Committee as well as being a member of the Academic Policy and Procedure; Academic Records, Processes and Systems; 25Live; and Admissions, Registrars and Athletic Compliance working groups.

We can all say that it has been a pleasure and honor to work with Susan. She is the kind of person that everyone knows and is always helping other colleagues with a smile. We wish Cooper fun, relaxation and joy in her retirement and hope that it is filled with more travels!
