Biomanufacturing faculty hiring search continues

Submitted by Office of the Vice President for Research

Starting during the 2023-2024 academic year, K-State announced the hiring of 12 new tenure/tenure-track faculty positions in biomanufacturing and related bioscience and enabling technologies. Six faculty members were hired in the 2023-2024 academic year and the search has been reopened for 2024-2025.

The Multidisciplinary Hiring Initiative in Biomanufacturing is a capacity-building game changer for the university that supports the research enterprise in the expansive area of biomanufacturing.

Faculty of all ranks are eligible for hiring in research areas of interest that include but are not limited to:

  • Biomaterials development
  • Biomanufacturing engineering
  • Bioprocessing
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning for biomanufacturing process engineering
  • Synthetic biology in microbes/plants
  • Synthetic microbial communities
  • Vector-borne diseases

This hiring initiative serves as an important catalyst in advancing key components in the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan

As part of this initiative, multiple candidate seminars will take place on campus this fall. These presentations will be hosted by individual departments across multiple colleges and are open to all faculty and staff to attend.

A full list of seminars can be found on the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Initiative website.

These prospective faculty members will bring innovative research and learning that complements our established reputation in agriculture, biosciences, biosecurity, engineering and veterinary medicine.

The Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Research jointly oversee the faculty search processes and approve the hires into the multidisciplinary hiring initiative.
