Take care of finals and yourself
Submitted by Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs
Congrats, 'Cats, on making it to the end of the fall semester! The end is in sight, but it's important to stay on top of things. At K-State, there are many ways you can prioritize your academic, financial, physical and mental well-being.
- Use Navigate to connect with study buddies — The Study Buddies feature in Navigate allows you to connect with peers from specific sections of your courses. Meet up with others to help with your finals studying. View a how-to at k-state.edu/navigate.
- Take a brain break and move your body or take time to relax — Giving yourself breaks is just as important as studying — and can make the studying process more effective. Visit the Recreation Complex and take advantage of the many resources it offers: exercise equipment, fitness classes, a climbing wall, a recreation lounge room and so much more. If massage is more your thing, schedule one with Lafene Health Center at k-state.edu/lafene.
- Stay hydrated and well-nourished — Make sure you are eating and drinking enough, as well as getting a good amount of sleep. Check out Cats' Cupboard, the Kramer or Derby dining centers, on-campus housing retail locations, or the K-State Student Union for delicious and convenient food options.
- Reach out for support when you need it — You don't have to navigate your stress, challenges, or concerns on your own. Speak with a mental health professional by using Lafene CAPS or TELUS Health Student Support app. Or, connect with Student Support and Accountability to get support in problem-solving tricky situations.
- Make plans to complete FAFSA for the 2025-2026 academic year — The Free Application for Student Federal Aid, or FAFSA, is open for next academic year, and all students are encouraged to submit an application by the priority deadline. Completing FAFSA is the first step in finding federal student aid, and is often a requirement for state, local or private aid too.
The Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs provides an impactful and holistic K-State experience by aligning student life resources with academic support programs, so you can succeed inside and outside the classroom.
