Instructional support sessions hosted by Teaching and Learning Center

Submitted by Andie Faber

Struggling to put your course syllabi together? Feeling overwhelmed with the features in Canvas? Wanting to create course materials that meet accessibility standards? The Teaching and Learning Center and K-State instructional designers from Academic Affairs and Innovation can help.

Join us for pre-semester instructional support sessions on Tuesday, Jan. 14, starting with two Zoom sessions in the morning:

  • At 10 a.m., Christina van Ittersum will present "Principles of Accessibility," followed by a Q&A session; Zoom link
  • At 11 a.m., Brandon Utech will present "Accessibility in Mediasite," followed by questions and discussion; Zoom link

You may attend one or both sessions. These sessions will also be made available for asynchronous viewing on the Teaching and Learning Center's website after the events.

Join us in the afternoon for drop-in instructional support from 2-4 p.m. in Room 181 of Hale Library or via Zoom. A team of instructional designers will be available for drop-in consultations related to the instructional design of your course — e.g., syllabus, Canvas or other pedagogical choices.

Instructional Design Services offers training in backward and accessible course design, assessments, and activities. By combining their expertise and resources, they aim to design online credit programs, microcredentials and professional development opportunities that are tailored to your specific learners.

If you can't join us on Jan. 14, schedule a consultation by emailing gcid@k-state.edu or making an appointment directly on the calendar. Please make sure to give at least one day's notice when scheduling.
