Campus Restoration Act proposals due Feb. 28

Submitted by Division of Facilities

Stage two of the Campus Restoration Act, or CRA, is now underway. Proposal packages are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28. To submit your package, you must have your dean or vice president's signature for approval prior to submitting the Campus Restoration Act proposal form. Multiple requests from the same college or unit will require prioritization from the dean or vice president.

The CRA program allocates $30 million annually from fiscal year 2026 to fiscal year 2031 to assist Kansas campuses with critical infrastructure updates. A matching funding requirement is necessary to activate funds for investment in facilities. K-State is expected to receive approximately $53.8 million over the six years. Additionally, the university aims to invest around $31.8 million of CRA and university funding into campus projects that align with the following priorities:

  1. Renovating and expanding interdisciplinary research spaces to support collaboration and innovation across academic disciplines.
  2. Improving the student experience by enhancing instructional spaces, recruitment facilities and student services.

K-State has established a project advisory committee to evaluate, refine and recommend projects for implementation based on the criteria set by the Kansas Board of Regents and the university. Please note that project submissions are not done annually. All projects seeking CRA funding between fiscal years 2026 and 2031 must submit a proposal by the Feb. 28 deadline.

The advisory committee will review proposals during the project's third stage, which starts in March. K-State will use CRA funds to renovate and expand interdisciplinary research spaces and improve the overall student experience.
